I Jennifer Lyons (no relation to Leslie Lyons) am originally from Mariposa, California, where I was very active in 4-H and also intent on pursuing a career related to animal conservation. I went to junior college near my hometown before I transferred to University of California, Davis, to finish my bachelors in Animal Biology. As an undergraduate I spent much of my time working with the Lyons Lab as part of their cat husbandry team. After graduating with my degree in June, 2012, I was immediately accepted into a masters program at UC Davis in animal biology with the Lyons Lab. I am currently finishing up my masters on the assessment of reproductive traits, in vitro fertility, and embryo development in toyger cats affected with hydrocephalus. After, I hope to be accepted into a PhD program here at Mizzou again with the Lyons Lab to continue studying feline reproduction from a genetics standpoint. I eventually want a career in assisted reproduction conservation for exotic felids. I have three kitties, Copper, Jade, and King, and am slowly turning into a crazy cat lady.
