Alexa Personett

I am originally from the small town of Morton, Illinois (the Pumpkin Capitol of the World!). In high school, I worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice, where I first discovered my love for veterinary medicine. In 2009, I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying animal sciences with a concentration in companion animals. In May 2013, I graduated with a BS in Animal Sciences. This past fall, I started my first year of veterinary school at the University of Missouri. Upon receiving my DVM, I am currently interested in going into private practice, working with small animals and possibly exotics/pocket pets. This spring, I was accepted into the Veterinary Research Scholars Program where I will be working in Dr. Lyon’s lab to gain more research experience and learn more about all of the inherited diseases affecting cats that I may see as a veterinarian. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching TV shows, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling my cat Mosby
