I am from Caruthersville, Missouri; a small town in southeast Missouri. Because of my love for animals and sincere interest in anatomy and science, I decided to pursue a career in the field of Veterinary Medicine. I attended undergrad at Missouri State University and graduated May 2013 with a B.S. in Animal Science. Currently, I am a veterinary student at the College of Veterinary Medicine – Columbia, Missouri.
As a Veterinary Research Scholar, I chose to work in Lyon’s Lab to gain experience working in a lab. Genetics is such a fascinating subject and I wanted to see if it was something I would want to dedicate my career to. So far, I have had an excellent experience and look forward to learning as much as possible during the summer!
My hobbies include dance, exercise and cuddling with my cute, fuzzy kitty, Kevin!
